Crystallized "Christmas" Nuts - Component for your Christmas Plated Dessert

Introducing the perfect component for your Christmas plated dessert – Crystallized "Christmas" Nuts. This delightful recipe combines the rich flavors of toasted hazelnuts with a sweet and spicy crystallized coating that captures the essence of the holiday season.

Feel free to customize with your favorite nuts – substitute hazelnuts with any nut you prefer. Additionally, for a richer flavor, try using a darker sugar in place of brown sugar.

Crystallized "Christmas" Nuts

50g Brown sugar
20g Water
100g Toasted Hazelnuts
0.60g All spices
0.50g Cinnamon
0.30g vanilla powder
0.50g Salt Maldon

  1. In a small pot, combine brown sugar and water. Bring the mixture to a boil.

  2. Once the sugar is melted and the mixture is boiling, add the toasted hazelnuts. Stir well.

  3. As the hazelnuts cook, the sugar will slowly crystallize and coat the nuts. Keep the heat low and continue stirring.

  4. Add the allspice, cinnamon, vanilla powder, and Maldon salt. Stir again to ensure even coating.

  5. Once all the nuts are thoroughly coated and the sugar has crystallized, remove the pot from heat.

  6. Transfer the crystallized nuts onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Allow them to cool down completely.

  7. Once cooled, store the nuts in an airtight container.
